Three stages are proposed as follows:
- A consultation process to agree the master plan for the pool site as part of an overall town plan
- Implement the infrastructure changes and open up the site
- Develop the three areas identified for the site – namely a leisure facility, community building/cafe/playground and housing, and invest more in site landscaping
Can this be done? It will of course be challenging – but we believe perfectly feasible. The infrastructure development cost has been estimated and could be funded from several sources e.g. local planning gain, TFL infrastructure, on-site housing, the council, and donations. Thereafter the leisure Facility and community building should be self funding, and the landscaping undertaken gradually.
Riverside Vision fully supports other minimum cost plans to make immediate use of the site. An infrastructure project will take time and this should not prevent use of the site.
